Yeah, we're dead. We... died.

I'll get straight to the point: I'm shutting this site down.
Pause for breath.
Location Shooting...

Annoyed about missing Tedfest?

Bidding ends in less than a day though, so you haven't got long...
So, no Chris Morris, then
Wed, 21/02/2007 - 05:43 — John Hoare
Are you stressed yet? Are you? Are you stressed? Etc.
Yep, it looks like Chris Morris isn't in Series 2 of The IT Crowd. I can't say I'm totally shocked - he's never done more than one series of any TV show in the past. Of course, with no Morris, there's no Denholm - you could recast some parts, but can you imagine anyone replacing Chris Morris in anything? Instead, someone else is taking over the company - and the part is to be played by Matt Berry, who I'm ashamed to say I haven't seen in anything bar the odd Darkplace episode a few years back, which I can't remember much about anyway. Journalism, there.

Ayoade in US IT Crowd Pilot
Wed, 17/01/2007 - 15:19 — John Hoare
According to Chortle, who also list the rest of the cast - Joel McHale as Roy, and Jessica St. Clair as Jen. Linehan is still on board as a consultant.
Shades of Robert Llewellyn's appearance in the Red Dwarf US pilot, although hopefully this will turn out rather more successfully. All we can hope for is that it doesn't endanger his role in the UK version if it's a success; his departure would leave a gaping hole at the heart of the show...
Much as I hope the US version is a success - I kinda wish all this was happening two or three years down the line. Is it a record for there to be a US pilot after just one series of the UK show?

Finally! From a couple of posts on Linehan's blog.
Tedfest '07
Tue, 09/01/2007 - 07:01 — John Hoare
A Father Ted convention! Fecking marvellous, or something. It's on between Friday 23rd - Sunday 25th February, and costs 130 Euros. Sadly, it's now sold out, as there was only 100 places going - but if you sign up for the newsletter, they'll let you know if anyone cancels.
IT Crowd Set Photos
Sun, 07/01/2007 - 09:19 — John Hoare
'Ello, there. Sorry for the break in programming. I'd like to pretend life got in the way, but it was just pure honest-to-god laziness. Anyway, got loads of stuff planned for the upcoming weeks, including some in-depth episode reviews for The IT Crowd and Hippies, along with some DVD reviews.
In the meantime, check out these photos taken on the set of The IT Crowd, if you haven't already seen them. Why does seeing a Torch second processor for the BBC Micro make me so happy?
New Arthur Mathews sitcom!
Sun, 17/12/2006 - 10:00 — John Hoare
Wow. Called The Eejits (a working title, apparently, but I think it's a fantastic name), about the members of an Irish pub band. Shades of Arthur's appearance in the Hippies episode Sexy Hippies, perhaps?
Apparently, funding has been given for development, with a possible pilot in the works. I am really, really excited about this - Hippies was Mathews only sitcom he wrote alone (although he created it with Linehan), and whilst there's obviously similarities to Father Ted and The IT Crowd, it's got a unique feel to it that I think is wonderful. I can't wait to see what he comes up with. As soon as I find out any more details, I'll let you know.
