TEH IT CROWDS NEWS

Finally! From a couple of posts on Linehan's blog.

In summary:

  • The second series is due "round about/just after summer". Excellent.
  • Despite my rumour-mongering, "we'll be shooting in front of an audience, just like last time". Hooray!
  • Regardless of what Linehan said on the DVD commentary, Mathews isn't involved with writing the second series - they had a go at writing a bit of it together, but it didn't work out, so Linehan's writing the second series completely by himself. Personally, I don't give a shit - I thought the first series was marvellous, and much as I admire Mathews' writing, I equally enjoy Linehan's.

The news about the series definitely being shot in front of a studio audience is absolutely fantastic. It seemed such a stupid rumour that it wasn't going to be - the only reason I published it was because it came from the ticket company themselves. As soon as tickets become available, I'll let you know.

Oh, and to everyone who expected the second series to start on January 5th - don't trust IMDB for things like that...

Why so late as in after summer? :(

It's not really that long. It's only about a year and a half's wait - loads of UK sitcoms have to wait that long, or even longer, between series.

A year and half! Summer of '08... wow... Thought only HBO/Saprano's had those kind of season/series delays.

No, Summer this year in the UK - around August time. A year and a half from the broadcast of the first series in the UK last year.

the first series is brilliant, its one of the funniest brittish sitcoms for years. really looking forward to the second series coming out, realy gutted about the time it is going to take but im hoping it wil be worth it, if ita as good as the first series it definately will be.
