Yeah, we're dead. We... died.

I'll get straight to the point: I'm shutting this site down.
Pause for breath.
I had such high hopes for this place. For years, I've wanted to do a Linehan/Mathews site - to go into their work in the same amount of depth as Ganymede & Titan does for Red Dwarf. And when The IT Crowd was broadcast last year, it instantly became my favourite comedy so far this decade. And I wanted to share why I loved it quite so much with everyone.
But I just ain't got time. I've got freelance work to be getting on with. I've got Ganymede & Titan to write for, Noise To Signal which needs a completely new backend (oo-er, etc), and The Iconbar to contribute to. And I've got new web stuff I need to learn. Something has to give. And whilst I don't want that something to be Standard Nerds - I agonised for ages before making this decision - realistically, it's the site that needs the most additional work putting into. And as a solo venture, and also something that's not yet got a dedicated userbase, it's the site that impacts the least on other people if I give it up.
It's a wretch. I've never really covered a series whilst it's been in production before - it would have been so much fun. And I've never got to write any of the articles which get across why I love the The IT Crowd so much. But in the end, I just can't do the site justice with the time I have - and I'd rather put this site out of its misery, than do one update a month, with yet another tagged on "more soon" message - which is never acted upon.
Still, I have that scratch to do a site like this - either a Linehan/Mathews site, or perhaps something more generally comedy-related. The fact that I don't have time to do it at the moment means I'm giving it up for now - but in a few years, when my situation is different, I'll have another go. So, enjoy the second series of The IT Crowd (I'm sure it'll be fantastic), and I'll be seeing you.
The spirit of Standard Nerds will return.

Oh man this sucks... I found my IT Crowd audience tickets thanks to you :(
Look forward to your triumphant return someday, good luck with whatever you end up doing :)

:-(
Shame you don't have the collaborators you have elsewhere. RIP SN.

Thanks, you two. I appreciate it.
One thing I meant to mention - keep an eye on Noise To Signal, as I'll probably post some reviews of Series 2 of IT Crowd over there. And probably some of the more general articles I planned for this site too, such as DVD reviews and a defence of the series. It's just that I can't write enough content on it to justify an entire site at the moment.
And I'm serious when I say that this site, in some form or other, will return some day...

"And I'm serious when I say that this site, in some form or other,
will return some day..."
So you're switching it off now. But you will turn it on again :-)
Shame to hear the decision really, but also clearly understandable.
Here is a parting gift of IT crowd news....
WARNING SPOILERS.....
WARNING SPOILERS.....
Kirsty Wark, scottish Newsnight Journalist wrote this on a scottish news site....
I think Graham Linehan should be sainted for Father Ted, so when he asked
me to play a cameo in the new series of The IT Crowd, it was a no-brainer.
He's written a scene in which I interview Moss about Iraq under the
misapprehension that he is a spokesman for the MoD. The production had built
a makeshift studio in a new office complex in Chiswick. Around us, office life
was in full swing - including a board meeting in an adjacent room, a man lecturing
with a flip chart down the corridor, and a tense confrontation through the next
window. Then it was off to Newsnight and normality, though just like The IT Crowd
we, too, have our fair share of wackos. No names.
