Location Shooting...

...for the second series of The IT Crowd started on Sunday. Hooray!

So, no Chris Morris, then

Are you stressed yet? Are you? Are you stressed? Etc.

Yep, it looks like Chris Morris isn't in Series 2 of The IT Crowd. I can't say I'm totally shocked - he's never done more than one series of any TV show in the past. Of course, with no Morris, there's no Denholm - you could recast some parts, but can you imagine anyone replacing Chris Morris in anything? Instead, someone else is taking over the company - and the part is to be played by Matt Berry, who I'm ashamed to say I haven't seen in anything bar the odd Darkplace episode a few years back, which I can't remember much about anyway. Journalism, there.

Ayoade in US IT Crowd Pilot

NBC logoAccording to Chortle, who also list the rest of the cast - Joel McHale as Roy, and Jessica St. Clair as Jen. Linehan is still on board as a consultant.

Shades of Robert Llewellyn's appearance in the Red Dwarf US pilot, although hopefully this will turn out rather more successfully. All we can hope for is that it doesn't endanger his role in the UK version if it's a success; his departure would leave a gaping hole at the heart of the show...

Much as I hope the US version is a success - I kinda wish all this was happening two or three years down the line. Is it a record for there to be a US pilot after just one series of the UK show?

TEH IT CROWDS NEWS

Finally! From a couple of posts on Linehan's blog.

IT Crowd Set Photos

'Ello, there. Sorry for the break in programming. I'd like to pretend life got in the way, but it was just pure honest-to-god laziness. Anyway, got loads of stuff planned for the upcoming weeks, including some in-depth episode reviews for The IT Crowd and Hippies, along with some DVD reviews.

In the meantime, check out these photos taken on the set of The IT Crowd, if you haven't already seen them. Why does seeing a Torch second processor for the BBC Micro make me so happy?

The US Crowd!!!!11111

40s NBC logo. Yes, any excuse to stick in an old logo, I'm afraid. That's such a clever title. I'm brilliant. Possibly.

So, whilst we're waiting for news on the second series of The IT Crowd in the UK, I thought I'd better mention something announced a while back - that NBC have a version of the show in development. The names involved (David Guarascio, Moses Port, Joe Port, and Joe Wiseman) mean nothing to me, but have been confirmed by Graham as being involved; it also seems that Graham has some form of creative control, although exactly how much control and input he will have is unclear.

IT Crowd Series 2: No live studio audience?

Here's something interesting. Searching for information about tickets for the second series of The IT Crowd, I came upon this site. Recording dates "TBA". So, I give them a quick mail, they told me that they don't know when the show will appear - and that the last they heard, "they may not do it with a live audience".
